The Q-Flex 400V (Video) is broadcast modem designed for video contribution and distribution delivery via ASI, IP or hybrid and supports data rates up to 345 Mbps. Compared to the standard Q-Flex, it supports much higher data rates, an extended frequency range, better RF performance, improved carrier cancellation with lower power consumption and more headroom for future upgrades. Combine this with the optional PCMA or Paired Carrier+ technology to deliver a powerful combination of bandwidth efficiency and high data throughput. Equally “at home” supporting HD video services the Q-Flex 400 has become the preferred modem for transporting live sports content, multi-channel HD video services and REMI type deployments.
The Q-Flex 400V is a flexible software-defined modem that does what you want, now and in the future. Any waveform, any interface, IF and L-band. Plus, fully-featured embedded IP (acceleration, compression, bridging, routing, encryption, shaping, ACM, etc.). And comprehensive diagnostic tools (including Rx spectrum monitor, Rx constellation monitor, interference detection underneath carrier, BER tester, etc.). The Q-Flex 400V modem supports the most powerful bandwidth-saving technology available. DVB-S2/S2X, unequalled for its robustness and bandwidth efficiency, is supported. Paired Carrier+ overlays transmit and receive carriers reducing satellite bandwidth by 50%. FastLink low-latency LDPC has been designed for latency-sensitive applications while giving coding gain that is close to the theoretical limits. Advanced bandwidth-saving IP features reduce the required satellite bandwidth to a small fraction of the raw traffic bandwidth.
The Q-Flex 400V is a “swiss army knife” type of a modem that offers an incredible level of flexibility for serial data, IP and ASI traffic in a single box. Modem setup is quick and easy via front panel or web GUI and if your running straight IP in point to point link, no IP configuration is needed. Just plug in your ethernet cables to the IP traffic port and you can start passing traffic. Another great feature of the Q-Flex 400V is its ability to support ASI for video applications. The 4 port ASI card can be used for both ASI input and output and the ports can be muxed together. This fully compliant DVB modem can function as a modulator with DVB carrier ID (CID) or a demodulator and used with any IP or ASI video encoder or IRD for video contribution or distribution, “REMI” or “at home production” services.
